Glasswells is renowned for its high quality products, from furniture and soft furnishings to cookware – but there’s so much more.

Did you know it’s the largest flooring retailer in Suffolk, employing around 40 specialist fitters qualified to fit everything from carpets, wood and laminate flooring to luxury vinyl tiles and planks by market leaders Karndean and Amtico. These made to last products aren’t for DIY-ers but for the more discerning customer who’s looking for a service too; the store can move furniture, uplift and dispose of your old flooring.

There’s a free home measuring service and right now carpet fitting’s free too.

The soft furnishing department sells bespoke curtains, blinds and accessories; with thousands of fabrics to choose from, including all the designer brands like Harlequin, Sanderson and Voyage.

There’s a free measuring service to ensure everything will fit and at the moment there’s a free curtain making offer on the Glasswells stock fabric collection. There’s also a choice of readymade curtains, cushions and throws; plus poles and tracks and a fitting service if needed.

The blind offer is a real draw. People just think of roller, verticals and venetians, but the choice now is amazing with so many different and beautiful products to enhance your rooms, plus options of motorisation which means they are 100% childsafe and no cords.

While enjoying the 10th anniversary celebrations, browse the store’s comprehensive cookware department, huge lighting selection, giftware and home accessories, pictures and mirrors - after all, Christmas is coming and seasonal goods are coming in every day.

There’s also bed linen, beautiful designer brands including Ted Baker, Kylie Minogue, Orla Kiely... duvets, pillows, mattress protectors, towels, bathroom accessories and cabinets – it’s got it all.

If, like me, you don’t know your Sanderson from your Fat Face, Glasswells’ very popular interior design service co-ordinates products from all departments to come up with a comprehensive design. The personal shopping service can also lend any customer a helping hand. Turning your house into a home is quite overwhelming and it’s hard to know where to start.

“You will find experts in all our departments there to help and make your shopping experience memorable for all the right reasons,” says Paul Glasswell, managing director.

If this sounds exhausting, put the shopping bags down and the pick up a tasty treat at the in-house Place to Eat restaurant offering a range of sumptuous traditional and freshly-served meals, boasting the best in local produce.

If you’ve been shopping for your new home, house removals are another thing the family-run business has been doing for more than 70 years.

“We’ve a skilled work force that knows how to handle your precious possessions and help take as much stress out of your moving day as possible.

“While there are some national furniture stores in Ipswich, Glasswells really does offer shoppers in the east of the region something special. People love their homes and want to furnish them with beautiful, quality things they’re proud of – and we’re proud to help them,” added Paul.

There’s lots of fun, more chances to win and more bargains in store at Glasswells this birthday weekend.

Children can enjoy free face painting, a magician, balloon modelling and a treasure hunt.

Don’t feel left out mums and dads, you can design a cushion cover, listen to The Magpie Group perform and the mayor of Ipswich will be cutting a celebratory cake at 11am on Saturday.

“We’ve got competitions in all departments to win some really great prizes,” said Paul.

Spin the wheel of fortune to win everything from bed linen and cutlery to gift cards. Other competition prizes include a Jellycat Toy, Stellar Rocktanium saucepan set, Kylie Minogue duvet set, swivel chair, faux leather visitor bed, a pair of Voyage Highland Coo cushions and a Lana rug all worth hundreds of pounds.

There will also be demonstrations from Paul Lamond Games, Mrs Bridges and Lamp Berger and discounts.

Paul added: “There are already loads of reductions throughout all departments and by taking this story with you can get an extra 10% on top. The staff are really looking forward to welcoming everyone.”

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Glasswells in Ipswich, the Ranelagh Road department store is offering an extra 10% off the already reduced prices across all of its departments, with no minimum spend. Print out this story - valid from October 17, 2018 to October 28, 2018 - to qualify. It’s for use in the Ipswich store only and can’t be used in Hammond’s or the restaurant.
