Boost for Ipswich legal firm with five staff promotions

Five team members at a Ipswich based law firm have received promotions within the company.

Attwells Solicitors, the leading property firm in East Anglia, are celebrating the achievements of five staff members. Three have successfully completed training contracts with the firm and qualified to practice, whilst two others have received further promotions.

Katie Mead, 25, joined Attwells in 2013 after completing her Legal Practice course. After a training contract with the firm, she has now qualified as a commercial solicitor for local Suffolk and North Essex clients.

Katie said: “I’ve always been ambitious and so I’m keen to progress as much as possible. I am involved in the business development of the Commercial Department and want to continue with that to see the department grow.”

Juliet Burtrand, 26, has qualified into the Private Client department and also does conveyancing for her personal clients.

Juliet adds, “I hope to become an expert in my field and develop my knowledge and work with the court of protection as I find this particularly interesting.”

O.J Topping, 24, has been with the firm since 2013 and is now a qualified member of the Disputes and Litigation team. He said, “I’m hoping to build up my specialism in disputes, I have plenty of areas that I want to develop but it’s fantastic to part of a firm as supportive as Attwells.”

Lloyd Clarke, 30, who has been with the company since 2010, has been promoted to Head of Employment Law after he has successfully boosted the turnover of the department significantly since joining.

He started at Attwells as a paralegal, before progressing onto a training contract.

On his promotion, Lloyd said “It’s fantastic to have moved into a role where I head up the Employment department. Having started out as a trainee with Attwells, it really goes to show what kind of progression there is in the firm for those who want it.”

Laura Catania, 35, been with the firm since the beginning and has worked in conveyancing for the last 15 years. She progressed from a Conveyancer to Conveyancing Manager through the years and has been now promoted to Associate.

Laura says “I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the firm to further promote Attwells as specialists in their fields, in particular the Conveyancing department where I specialise, to help this to continue to grow and progress as much as possible.”

Attwells has 6 training contracts available at any one time and due to continuing growth, the firm are keen to recruit new trainees into the company.
