First anniversary for Idelo Travel

When it is cold, dark and damp in this country - thoughts often turn to holidays in the sun.

Even in the worst of winter weather, just the thought that you have booked that next holiday - somewhere warmer - and it is in the diary, can help cheer you up.

Andrea Powell, managing director of Ipswich-based Idelo Travel, said: “I have been addicted to holidays in the past and always used to have one booked up.

“One customer said to me `the holiday starts from the day you book it’- with the planning and looking foward to it.

“When people come home the first thing people want to do is book a new holiday. They have had so much fun.

“When I was a customer I always valued my holidays - my free time was so precious.

“People also spend a lot of money on their holidays, whether it is £500 or £5,000 - as well is giving up their precious time. So it has got to be right for them.

“So it is very important that we provide the best advice to help people get the best from their free time.”

Idelo Travel is now celebrating its first year in business, in the heart of Ipswich.

Andrea says the personal, individual service they provided was their big selling point.

“People can do their own research on the internet but the personal service and advice we offer is important. There is just so much information out there - it can be overwhelming.

“It is very important that we provide the advice for people in choosing what to do with their free time.

“That is how we can help them.

“People can look, and some can book, on the internet, but it is so impersonal. There is no individual contact if there are questions that need to be asked.

“For people booking honeymoons or weddings abroad, or a holiday to celebrate a special birthday or occasion, they want it all to be just right.

“Honeymoons can be booked a long time in advance. I have already booked one for February/March 2016 for example.”

Idelo Travel can book everything from city breaks in this country and abroad, to family holidays to tailor-made holidays, such as a cruise with a stay-over.

“We can get very good deals,” she said.

“We have customers going to the top of the world, The Arctic, to the bottom of the world - the Antarctic, and to the top of a mountain (Kilianjaro).

Long haul travel was provind extremely popular, she said.

“Asia is incredibly popular, as is Canada, Australia and Africa.

“When people are going these sort of distances it is important to carefully plan the holidy - to enjoy the experience - but without trying to do too much in a limited time.,

“You can’t `do’ Australia in two weeks, for example.”

Whatever sort of holiday you are planning, Idelo Travel can help you decide.
