east of england: Ipswich Building Society has been recognised for its dedication to the local community at a regional awards ceremony honouring responsible business practice.
The society picked up the Business Team Volunteering Award trophy at the Business in the Community East of England 2011 Awards for Excellence, held at Hengrave Hall, near Bury St Edmunds.
Paul Winter, chief executive of the society, which was also “Highly Commended” in the Staying Health and Work category, said: “As a local organisation, we believe that the local community should be at the heart of everything that we do.”
Mike Brophy, regional director for Business in the Community, added: “I congratulate Ipswich Building Society on their award this year. There is a significant amount of business-community engagement happening across the region and the work that Ipswich Building Society undertakes is a good example.”
