The East Anglia-based Marriott Motor Group picked up the top honour of the night at the annual Volkswagen One Business Awards, which recognise the marque’s top performing UK dealers.
Out of a national network of more than 190 sites, Marriott’s three full dealerships were all placed in the top 10 nationally, with Ipswich Volkswagen 9th, Kings Lynn Volkswagen 7th and Bury St Edmunds Volkswagen 5th.
And this consistent performance, together with that of group’s Barnards of Stowmarket used car and repair operation, saw Marriott take first place in the overall Key Partner League to become the UK’s top VW group.
Paul Barnard, the group’s managing director, said: “This performance will be regarded as one of the most consistent performances ever achieved by a retailer group.
“It is reflective of a fantastic team effort and of an approach and desire to achieve the very highest standards in sales, aftersales and customer satisfaction. We are delighted to be starting 2018 on such a high note.”
The awards were presented during a gala dinner ceremony at Tobacco Dock in London.
Marriott Motor Group, which has its head office in Ipswich and also operates Skoda, Renault, Dacia and SsangYong sites in the region, is a member of the EADT/EDP Top 100 listing of Suffolk and Norfolk’s 100 largest companies by turnover.
