New appointments at award-winning architects

KLH Architects based in Ipswich has experienced a successful first half of 2015 and as a result has welcomed six new members to the team.

Appointments bring both experience and youth, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to expanding into new sectors but also to investing in future talent.

Alan Wilkinson has joined KLH to bolster the team’s experience in the education sector, whilst also bringing a passion for community projects and promoting the architectural profession.

Graham Page has joined as a senior architectural technician and brings with him specialist experience in the education sector and within the Ministry Of Defence. He also has expert knowledge in green roof systems.

Robert Gillett-Ratley, aged 24 joins the team as an architectural assistant. With a specialism in steelwork fabrication, Robert is about to begin his RIBA Part 2 training on a part-time basis through the University of Greenwich.

Emma Boal,27, started at KLH having worked at Foster and Partners in London. Emma is currently preparing for her RIBA Part 3 Professional Examinations and will register as an RIBA Chartered Architect in early 2016.

Ed Deacon, 24, is an architectural technologist and joins KLH Architects following completion of a four year undergraduate degree in Building Surveying and a Masters in Architectural Technology and Design. Ed will be assisting KLH Architects in developing the Principal Designer role under the new Construction Design Management 2015 regulations.

Nicola Clarke,23 has joined KLH for a summer placement before her final year at University of Kent. Nicola will be returning to KLH Architects as a full time Part 2 Architectural Assistant in 2016 and is currently studying for her RIBA Part 2 accreditation.

Rob Keeble, partner at the practice said “We are proud to have been selected for several prestigious projects so far in 2015, which gives us the ability to add to the team with experience as well as new talent. All six have made an immediate impact with new ideas, enthusiasm and skills.”

KLH, who are based at Sproughton, have started a major extension and renovation project on their current offices in order to accommodate the team’s growth.

Recent projects they have worked on include the regeneration of the Ipswich Regent, whilst up and coming projects include the Two Rivers Medical Centre on Woodbridge Road.

KLH Architects is a RIBA chartered practice based in Ipswich who provide design, planning and project management expertise in healthcare, residential, commercial and leisure development in East Anglia and London.

Services include all RIBA work stages including Feasibility Studies, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Planning Applications, Listed and Conservation Building Regulation Applications, Working Construction drawings, Lead Consultant Role and artistic 2D and 3D visualisations.
