Gait and Motion Technology

A new biomechanics business in Bury St Edmunds is aiming to put a spring in people’s step and it has linked up with the University of Suffolk.

Gait and Motion Technology has been set up by business partners Scott Barton and George Cummins, who between them have more than 20 years’ experience working in the clinical and sport industry.

Specialising in gait and movement, their portfolio includes ‘Phits,’ a bespoke 3D printed insole based on foot pressure measurement.

Mr Barton said: “We have moved away from traditional manufacturing methods to offer a greatly improved product, designed with 0.1mm of accuracy to improve comfort and performance.

“Forming a partnership with University of Suffolk allows us to reinvest our knowledge, working with students studying biomechanics who will shape the next generation of healthcare.

“We plan to expand our reach throughout the UK and employ new team members along the way.”“Forming a partnership with University of Suffolk allows us to reinvest our knowledge, working with students studying Biomechanics who will shape the next generation of healthcare.
