FIRE crews in Ipswich have tackled a busy afternoon, with several small fires breaking out across the town.

FIRE crews in Ipswich have tackled a busy afternoon, with several small fires breaking out across the town.

At about 12.15pm firefighters were called to reports of a kitchen fire at a house in Stubbs Close, just off Landseer Road.

A crew from Princes Street fire station and one from head quarters in Colchester Road tackled the flames, bringing the incident under control by about 12.30pm.

About an hour later at 1.13pm a crew from head quarters were called to an electrical fire in a dust cart in Colchester Road, putting it out by 1.25pm.

The third incident happened in Grimwade Street at about 1.40pm when a crew from Princes Street tackled a rubbish fire in a derelict building, taking ten minutes to battle the flames.
