Busy night for firefighters

FIRE crews were called to the scene of a car fire on Main Road, Bucklesham.

One appliance from Felixstowe attended the fire of a silver Ford Sierra just after 11pm yesterday.

One appliance from Felixstowe attended the fire of a silver Ford Sierra just after 11pm yesterday.

Police are treating the fire as arson and are appealing for any witnesses to call Felixstowe police 01473 613500.

Firefighters were also from Ipswich were called to a heath fire in Dobbs Lane, Martlesham, just before 8pm yesterday where approximately 100 square metres of heath was ablaze.

One appliance from Colchester Road attended the fire which was brought under control within 25 minutes.

Elsewhere crew from Bury St Edmunds attended a hedge fire in Pinners Way just before 10pm yesterday.
