VOLUNTEER rescuers at Felixstowe experienced a busy weekend with a kite surfer and sailors running into trouble.
At 1.50pm on Saturdaythe Felixstowe Volunteer Coast Patrol Rescue Service was called following reports of a kite surfer in difficulties off Deben Bar.
The rescue boat was launched and the surfer, who was tired and cold, was taken aboard after his kite had become entangled with a buoy.
All his equipment was recovered and he was brought ashore.
Just a couple of hours later the rescue boat was patrolling the River Orwell when the crew came across a broken down speedboat. The 14ft boat, which had four people and a dog onboard, was towed safely to the Levington Marina.
Yesterdayat 1.25pm, the crew was called to help after a sailing dinghy carrying two people had capsized in the water off Pin Mill. They were stood down on arrival as the incident was already being dealt with.
