A spectacular chocolate cake bunny, an intricate cupcake bouquet and a delicious salted caramel surprise were the stars of the Ipswich Hospital charity’s first ever Easter bake-off.
More than 30 people baked a cake to enter the hospital’s big charity event today, each donating £2 to the charity to take part.
After judging was completed the cakes were offered up for sale - and it wasn’t long until they were all snapped up.
Janshadan Islam won the ‘showstopper’ category with her creative caramel chocolate surprise and Sue Kelly won the cupcake contest with her bouquet of cakes.
A special award went to Erlinda Esleyer, who works in the emergency department, for her incredible chocolate Easter bunny.
“We were thrilled by how many people supported the event,” said charity head Mandy Jordan. “This was the first bake-off we have had at the hospital. “We are so grateful to every one who got involved.”
