SUFFOLK police are using covert cameras in the fight against bogus callers, it was announced today.
Officers are installing the cameras in the homes of vulnerable people, including victims of distraction burglaries.
Detective chief inspector Stuart Hudson said: “A camera is hidden within the house so when a suspect calls their image will be captured, possibly recording a distraction burglary in progress.
“This could provide us with the evidence needed to increase the number of offences detected and bring officers to justice.”
The cameras are being installed in the west of the county.
