A fundraising page to help care for horses seized by welfare organisations in Paper Mill Lane near Ipswich has raised more than £3,400.

In January, Redwings Horse Sanctuary and the RSPCA seized 10 horses on welfare grounds following concerns raised by local campaigners and site visits by vets, police and Suffolk County Council.

Since then a fundraising page has raised £3,488.

The fundraising organisers Ali Matthews, Penny Hume and Selena Clucas said it would be split between RSPCA and Redwings for care of the 10 horses seized, as well as any others in Paper Mill Lane which needed care.

Ms Hume said on the page: “Thank you all so much for your continued support. I am so amazed at your generosity as we still continue our campaign,” and added “I’m so proud of every single one of you who has battled to be the voice for these horses and get heard”.
