LIFELONG Norwich City fan Colin Davey could plough £5million into Ipswich Town – but only if the Canaries knock him back.

The Suffolk-based professional gambler turned millionaire businessman promised today to take a punt on the Tractor Boys if his boyhood heroes do not like the colour of his money.

A £5m investment would be a massive boost to cash-strapped Town ahead of their share issue. But Mr Davey is clear where his first loyalties lie.

He said: "I've always been a fan of Norwich City and always dreamed of buying them and one day being chairman. How can they turn the offer down?

"I've got a business worth £100m, which will be sold off next year.

"I'm going to buy a football club. If not Norwich, I will have to go to Ipswich."
