A CAR owner from Ipswich had an unpleasant start to the new year after discovering that his car had burnt out early in the morning.Firefighters were called to the blaze at Turner Road, on the Gainsborough estate, shortly after 6am.
A CAR owner from Ipswich had an unpleasant start to the new year after discovering that his car had burnt out early in the morning.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at Turner Road, on the Gainsborough estate, at 6.14am on New Year's Day.
They found the Volkswagen car burnt out on the forcourt of a house. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus brought the blaze under control shortly after 6.30am.
A nearby resident said: "I was in bed when I heard it. It was about six in the morning. I looked out of the window and could see all these flames so I rang the fire brigade. It was a shock to see."
A spokeswoman for the fire service said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
