Car chase follows armed raid

Gunmen wreaked terror in an early morning raid in Felixstowe today before making off in a BMW along the A14 chased by speeding police.

The drama ended when the raiders' car crashed into an Ipswich shop front forcing them to flee on foot.

The drama ended when the raiders' car crashed into an Ipswich shopfront, forcing them to flee on foot.

The drama began at 6.40am when three raiders apparently armed with a sawn-off shotgun terrified two female staff in the Walton branch of Alldays.

Police then pursued the getaway car in a high-speed chase to Ipswich. They caught up with two of the raiders at 7.16am when they fled the crash scene on Woodbridge Road on foot.
