THIS beast of a car is certainly a real head turner!

Covered entirely in bright orange and black tiger print, the car is causing a commotion in Ipswich after 23-year-old Nick Shirley won it in a competition.

Mr Shirley, of The Lawns, Ipswich, entered an RAC competition that offered people the chance of winning one of three cars - a trendy Porsche, a “dud”, or a “head turner”.

The three winners were invited to London for the unveiling ceremony and Mr Shirley was left speechless when the covers were removed to reveal he had won a colourful surprise.

The Vauxhall Astra's engine can now be heard “roaring” around Ipswich.

Mr Shirley, who said he had almost forgotten that he had entered the competition by the time he received the call to tell him he had won, said: “I was pretty shell-shocked when I found out which car I had won.

“I definitely didn't expect it to be covered in tiger stripes.

“The Porsche would have been my number one choice but I'm perfectly happy with winning this.

“Everyone takes a second look at me in it but all my mates say that if I am going to give them a lift I had better not pick them up in it.

“The female reaction has been quite good but the male reaction has been not so good.

“It is quite an amusing car but I don't think I will be keeping it in the long-term.

“Nobody would take me seriously and I only bought a new car a week ago.”
