AT LEAST 16 cars were damaged in a Suffolk village early today.

Police believe estate agent signs were used to vandalise cars parked along Front Street in Mendlesham. The signs were stolen from along the same road.

Panels were dented, windows were smashed and wing mirrors were damaged.

The Criminal Damage Squad is investigating this matter and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has information relating to it.

It is believed the culprit would have been in the area for a while and would have made a considerable noise. Police will be conducting house to house enquiries and are appealing for anyone else who has had damage to vehicles to report the matter.
