A charity ball celebrating the 100th anniversary of a disability charity has raised more than £5,700.
The Ipswich Hotel launched its year-long fund-raising drive for the Papworth Trust at the glitzy black-tie event on Saturday.
More than 120 people attended the event, a grand dinner and dance including a three course meal, live music, disco, raffle and auction.
Rameth Kurdi, the hotel’s general manager, said: “We decided to support Papworth Trust after visiting the charity’s Ipswich Centre and speaking to staff and meeting people supported by the centre.
“It was very inspiring and made me want to support Papworth Trust for the next year.
“I am delighted with how the charity ball went and I would like to thank everyone who supported the event.”
Papworth Trust offers support and care to disabled and older people, their families and carers, helping people of all ages to live independently at home.
Jo Revitt, corporate fund-raiser at Papworth Trust said the charity were delighted to have the support of Rameth and everyone at the Ipswich Hotel.
“The charity ball was a wonderful occasion and has done so much to directly support the work Papworth Trust does with disabled people in the Ipswich area.”
