Volunteers eager to improve healthcare services in east Suffolk have a chance to make their voice count.

The NHS Ipswich and East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is recruiting for its Community Engagement Partnership (CEP).

Applicants should live in east Suffolk, have some understanding of health matters either as a patient or a carer and be willing to draw on their experiences to help influence the commissioning process.

The CEP is made up of 15 people who have a meaningful say in the decisions made on the planning and implementation of local NHS services.

Pauline Quinn, the CCG’s patient and public involvement lay member, said: “The work of the CCG must be grounded in reality and based on people’s experiences as a user of health services. Being a member of the community engagement partnership is a real opportunity to make a difference to your NHS.

“We are particularly keen to increase diversity within the group and would encourage younger people and those from the LGBT+ and black, Asian and ethnic minority communities to apply. Having a membership of people from a wide range of backgrounds will ensure the CEP is truly representative of the vibrant and diverse population of east Suffolk.”

The role is voluntary and requires a commitment to attend a monthly two-hour meeting and occasion workshops. Travel expenses are paid.
