Duncan Smith has been inspired to take up an epic cycling challenge after watching an episode of The One Show.

Mr Smith, 55, from Ipswich was so inspired by watching Alex Smith from charity Harrison’s Fund talk about his Greatest Ironman challenge that he decided to set up his own challenge.

Mr Smith said: “I saw Alex on The One show and was so impressed by his dedication to his son and his physical efforts in attempting the Ironman Challenge with Harrison that I donated then and there.

“When I decided I was wanted to challenge myself this year by riding the Camino Way in Spain it was natural for me to decide that it was a great opportunity to raise some money and awareness for the charity.”

Mr Smith is hoping to complete the distance in five days in order to raise £750.
