HOLIDAYMAKERS are facing lengthy delays today after services were suspended through the Channel Tunnel when smoke was seen coming from a freight shuttle train.
The tunnel was closed at around 1pm with operator Eurotunnel claiming services would be resumed later today.
A spokesman for train company Eurostar, which operates through the tunnel, said a fire alarm had gone off and all trains had been stopped.
All services, including passenger and freight shuttle trains and through-train and freight services, have been suspended.
