A black tie charity ball is taking place to collect cash for an Ipswich-based baby bereavement support group.

Tickets are still available for the Ipswich Hospital Baby Bereavement Group (BBG) event, which is being hosted at the Town Hall and Corn Exchange on Saturday, May 5, from 7pm.

The dress code is black tie, and there will be a drinks reception on arrival.

Last year’s ball raised several thousands of pounds, with £9,000 of the total used to purchase a special machine for the hospital’s Deben Ward.

For antenatal women who attend the ward for reduced fetal movement or those with a high risk pregnancy, the new Dawes Redman CTG machine can identify within 10 minutes if a baby is in distress.

It is dedicated to babies whose memory will serve to save lives in the future, charity bosses said.

The 2018 ball also includes a raffle with top prizes.

Email ipswichbabybereavement@gmail.com if you would like to attend.

Those who cannot attend, but wish to support the group, can visit their JustGiving page to buy raffle tickets.
