GOLFING fans are getting into the swing of things and teeing off in aid of Ipswich autistic twins Kate and Samuel Horsfield.

Capel and East Bergholt Round Table have organised a grand golf day at Hintlesham Hall in October to raise funds for the three-year-old's specialist treatment.

Already the event has been a huge success with 72 places filled immediately and many more wanting to take part.

Individual and team competitions will take place during the day, along with competitions for the longest drive and a nearest the pin competition. A raffle will round off the evening after dinner.

Nigel Farr – who has friends with autistic twins in London – organised the event along with Jon Eddy, also of Capel and East Bergholt Round table.

They were delighted with the take-up.

"Demand was exceptional. Basically the event was oversubscribed.

"Hintlesham Hall is a fabulous venue for golf and we are pleased with the help they have given us in planning and organising the event, particularly Ian Procter.

"We are hoping to raise as much money as possible on the day."

He appealed for Suffolk businesses to donate raffle and competition prizes.

Those who can help please contact Nigel Farr on 0772 – 0071963, or Jon Eddy on 01206 – 863019.

The Horsfield twin's plight has been publicised in The Evening Star who organised a sponsored walk to raise funds.

nCapel and East Bergholt is one of the largest tables in the Anglia region and has fortnightly social events.

nOther causes supported by Capel Round Table included brownies, playgroups, pensioners clubs, as well as providing ongoing support for Capel Youth Worker Initiative.
