MEMBERS of DCE, an Ipswich-based charity that raises money for equipment to help keep disabled people mobile, gathered together for a hot date in the town.
The eat, drink and merry fund-raising night was held at the Ghandi Restaurant in St Peters Street, and project manager Carolyne Morey said the event was a real success.
"The restaurant hosted the evening and we would all like to thank them. It is a place some of our members use regularly and they were happy to help us out and host the evening.
"We charged ten pounds a ticket and we had 69 people buy tickets. The restaurant gave us £450 at the end of the evening which was a really nice surprise. The food was great and every one had a really good time.
"We raised £600 during the evening and this is probably going to help buy a special chair for a disabled boy," she said.
