AN Italian chef has appeared in court on a charge of harassing pregnant

supermodel Claudia Schiffer at her new £ 5 million Suffolk country mansion.

Agostina Pomata, 33, allegedly went three times in a week to the blonde

German's home Coldham Hall in Stanningfield, near Bury St Edmunds.

Multi-millionairess Schiffer, 31, who is expecting her first baby early next

year was not at the 16th century house when he allegedly visited.

Pomata is accused of pursuing course of conduct amounting to harassment by

entering her private property without permission and attempting to speak to

her or see her.

He is said to have made three visits between November 4 and last Monday to the 12-bedroom house set in 40 acres of parkland.

Pomata, of Bury St Edmunds, was remanded on bail until December 10 by

magistrates in the town on condition that he does not go to Coldham Hall.

He did not enter a plea when he appeared in court alongside an Italian

interpreter who explained the charge to him.

Schiffer and her British film producer husband Matthew Vaughn who produced the hit films Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels did not attend the brief court hearing.

The couple, who also have a home in Notting Hill, completed their purchase of Coldham Hall earlier this month and are due to move in after carrying out

renovation work.

The previous owner allowed them to hold their wedding reception at the house last May after they got married in St George's Church at nearby Shimpling.

The 200 guests at the wedding included former soccer star turned hardman

actor Vinnie Jones and German tennis star Boris Becker.

Schiffer has the security worry of a public footpath going down the 600 yard

driveway of Coldham Hall, which is said to be haunted.

The path leads right to their garden gate close to their front door and then

skirts around the side of the house beside its Victorian stable block,

ancillary buildings and courtyard parking area.

Villagers have warned that they will fight to retain the path if blonde

Schiffer tries to take legal steps to get it closed or diverted away from

the house.

Grade One listed Coldham Hall was built in 1575 by Sir Robert Rookwood whose son Ambrose became one of the main Gunpowder Plot conspirators who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605.

Schiffer who has been on the front cover of 550 magazines in the last 14

years was previously engaged to magician David Copperfield for six years.

She is reported to be one of Germany's wealthiest women, capable of earning

up to £30,000-a-day and worth about £38 million.
