Chicken plant fire

FIREFIGHTERS from Stowmarket and Elmswell were called to a chicken processing plant after a fire started in a frier.

Crews were called to John Rannoch Foods at Haughley Park, Haughley near Stowmarket at 9.

FIREFIGHTERS from Stowmarket and Elmswell were called to a chicken processing plant after a fire started in a frier.

Crews were called to John Rannoch Foods at Haughley Park, Haughley near Stowmarket at 9.25pm yesterday.

Fire crews used breathing apparatus to tackle the fire and at one stage crew used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots in the roof. No one was hurt, and the incident was under control just after 10pm.
