Mum, dad, what do you do at work?
This is a question children of workers at one of Ipswich's biggest companies won't have to ask any more having been given the chance to join their parents at work.
Staff at Agilent Technologies at Bramford have been taking part in the company's Take Your Children to Work Day and more than 30 youngsters grabbed the opportunity to join in.
The 12 to 16-year-olds were given an introduction to the company before taking part in a number of supervised experiments designed to explain scientific concepts in a fun way.
Activities included the steady hand game, which tests manual dexterity and explores the basics of electricity, and Newton's Rocket Car, when the youngsters assembled a balloon powered car in a practical demonstration of Newton's third law of motion.
The youngsters were also given the chance to shadow their parents at work to find out more about the jobs they do.
Tom White, Agilent Technologies UK managing director, said: "Agilent values the communities it operates in very highly and strives to be a powerful economic, intellectual and social asset for them.
"One area that our community involvement programmes focus on is improving student achievement in science education. To that end, employees' children are invited to Take Your Kids to Work days at our sites.
"We hope to inspire them to follow their parents in to a hi-tech work environment."
