IT'S that time of year again when thoughts to turn to mince pies, ordering the christmas tree and…The Evening Star Carol Service.

The ever-popular annual Yuletide event is back and the all important date for this year's feast of carols is Friday December 14.

The service will start at 7.30pm and it will be held at St Margaret's Church in Ipswich.

Vicar Rev David Cutts said: "The Evening Star Carol Service is very much part of Christmas at St Margaret's.

"It always attracts crowds of people and we look forward to welcoming many friends once again. It is a wonderful opportunity to reflect together on the true meaning of Christmas.

"All this will be in the context of a traditional carol service with a chance to sing some old favourites. Do come!"

Hundreds of people will be eager to get their hands on tickets for this year's service so don't miss out – it is expected that all 350 tickets to the event will quickly sell out.

Asda has kindly donated a box of mince pies which will be given away free to everyone that attends the service and the Christmas carols will also be signed for the deaf.

This year there's a nominal £1 charge for tickets to the service – and there will also be a collection at the church.

All money raised – both from the tickets and the collection – will go to the Evening Star's Christmas Appeal to boost the Vicky Hall memorial pavilion.

nIf you want to go to the carol service, don't hang around, as tickets will be posted out on a first come, first served basis.

Please send cheques to Christine Upson, Evening Star, 30 Lower Brook Street, Ipswich, IP4 1AN. Please make cheques payable to ecng Ltd.
