Cineworld in Ipswich was evacuated this afternoon due to a power cut.

It has been reported the town’s Crown Court has also been affected.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “Following a fault on the underground electricity network 74 customers in the Cardinal Park area of Ipswich would have seen an interruption to their power supply at around 1.30pm this afternoon, with 72 customers having their power restored around five minutes later.

“We currently have two customers without electricity and we would like to reassure them that we are working as quickly and safely as we can to get their power restored as soon as we can.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this incident.”
