Cineworld in Ipswich has reopened after drainage problems caused it to shut for several hours today.
The 11-screen complex in Cardinal Park announced on Facebook this morning that it was forced to close due to “circumstances beyond their control”.
Bosses confirmed to this newspaper that they closed to resolve an “issue with external drainage” and apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
Several cinema-goers posted on social media to report that they had experienced problems with the toilets in recent weeks.
But at 3.30pm today, Cineworld Ipswich released a statement on its official Facebook page stating: “We are happy to report that we are now OPEN for business as usual.”
A spokesman for Cineworld Ipswich said: “We can confirm that Cineworld Ipswich is now open as usual. The cinema was closed for a short period due to an external drainage issue.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and have offered refunds to anyone affected. We look forward to welcoming customers back to the cinema.”
