A TASTE of Germany came to the Evening Star offices as part of a work experience programme with a Bremen school.
Would-be journalist Clara Bethge, 16, joined the news team for a week to get a feel for a British paper.
Clara trailed reporters covering, among other things, the fire fighters strike.
Other students in Clara's ten-strong group worked in nurseries and primary schools around Ipswich.
She said: "I've never worked for a German paper so I'm not sure how they run things but reading the way they write, they seem to be quite similar."
Clara, who wants to be a journalist when she leaves college, will not miss English food when she returns home.

"We live in a hostel and cook our own food. I'm afraid to say I don't like chips or any fast food. But I do like the people in Ipswich, they were very friendly."
But a week in the town wasn't long enough to change footie-fan Clara's allegiance from her home team of SV Werder Bremen.
"My team is second place in the German league so it's doing a bit better than Ipswich Town," she said.
