Class A drug dealer who was arrested in Ipswich's Chantry Park is jailed
A drug dealer who was arrested by police in an Ipswich park has been locked up for 40 months.
Officers saw Abdulrahman Sheik-Dahir by a pond in Chantry Park at around midday on June 1, and when he was searched he was found in possession of 33 wraps of class A drugs and £1,885 cash, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
“It was likely that young people were in the park at that time of the day,” said Michael Crimp, prosecuting.
Sheik-Dahir, 27, of London, admitted possession of crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply on June 1.
The court heard that the defendant was sentenced to two years’ detention in 2010 for similar offences.
Richard Kelly, for Sheik-Dahir, said his client had come to Ipswich because he was in a relationship with a woman who lived locally.
He said his client had become involved in selling drugs after getting into debt with his dealer.
