A KITE surfer had to be rescued by coastguards after getting into difficulties off the Suffolk coast.
Three members of the public called Thames Coastguard at about 3.40pm on Saturday saying a kite surfer had got into trouble at the Deben bar, just at the mouth of the River Deben, near Felixstowe.
Felixstowe coastguards and the Harwich inshore lifeboat arrived at the scene and assisted the surfer to shore.
A spokeswoman for Thames Coastguard said she did not know whether the surfer had suffered a failure with his kit or had been swept out by the wind.
He is not thought to have been injured.
