SUFFOLK: Coastguard teams received a call from a concerned member of the public reporting a dinghy which looked like it was in trouble, yesterday.
SUFFOLK: Coastguard teams received a call from a concerned member of the public reporting a dinghy which looked like it was in trouble, yesterday.
At about 7.30pm the call reported the dinghy's position on the River Deben and Shingle Street and Felixstowe coastguard teams attended with the Suffolk police helicopter.
The Felixstowe crew made contact with a group of seven kayakers, establishing they were the presumed casualties.
Harwich RNLI lifeboat were tasked but stood down before arriving after the false alarm.
