CUSTOMS officers today revealed they have seized 120 kilos of cocaine at the Port of Felixstowe.

News of the haul, said to be worth £8million, comes after a plot to smuggle the largest ever single consignment of heroin into the UK through Felixstowe was foiled as reported in yesterday's Evening Star.

Four hundred kilos of the opiate with a street value of £30m were discovered in containers of cat litter from Turkey on May 23.

Fourteen people allegedly involved in the seizures were arrested following operations between Customs and members of the National Crime Squad over several weeks.

The cocaine arrived at Felixstowe on May 29 and was concealed in a consignment of timber that had arrived from Guyana.''
