The 42-year-old, of Colchester Road, Lawford was given an 18-month community order by Chelmsford Crown Court after an appeal was lodged against the three-month jail sentence she was given at an earlier hearing.
Julia Kettle, 17, was killed when Jipson lost control of her car and hit a telegraph pole near Dedham last March.
Jipson has also been banned from driving for 24 months.
