A woman escaped with minor injuries after her car was involved in a collision with a lorry in a rural Suffolk road.

Three fire engines were sent to the collision on the B1078 near Charsfield at 11.23am Thursday, September 5, where crews worked to remove the roof to free her from the vehicle.

The engines were dispatched from Woodbridge, Framlingham and Princes Street, while paramedics were also rushed to the scene to treat her for injuries.

Emergency services had initially believed the woman's injuries to be serious but later confirmed they were minor.

A section of the road, which connects Bildeston near Ipswich to Orford, was closed for much of the afternoon.

Recovery for the vehicle was underway shortly after 5pm, with police hoping to have the road re-opened as soon as her vehicle was cleared from the road.
