Four vehicles collided on the westbound carriageway of the A14 at Wherstead.
Police were called around 5.40pm and closed one lane of the road just before the Orwell Bridge.
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said no one was seriously injured in the crash.
The road was clear by 7.25pm.
