HE was one third of one of one of the biggest pop acts of the eighties and has not performed in England for a decade but now Matt Goss is back - and he's on his way to Felixstowe.

Matt, who enjoyed success as the lead singer of Bros, will perform at the Spa Pavilion on July 14 as one stop on a UK solo tour which sees him performing in England for the first time in ten years. Tickets for the concert go on sale on Monday.

The tour will follow the release of his debut solo single, Watch Me Fall, and precede the release of his debut solo album, Face The Wind, which is due out later in the year.

Matt's return to the music scene comes after a six-year hiatus. He said: "I spent my time setting up a great recording studio, completing contractual commitments under my publishing deal with Warner Chappell, painting and focusing on my future as a businessman in the industry."

This period of reflection came after Matt had enjoyed phenomenal international success with Bros, a band formed with his twin brother Luke and their school friend Craig Logan.

Their early days as a group were spent playing gigs at local workers clubs where they were booed off stage but they had the determination to succeed and eventually sparked record company interest. They eventually signed with Massive Management and a record deal with CBS soon followed.

Their debut single I Owe You Nothing was released in August 1987 but it wasn't until the release of their second track When Will I Be Famous that they started to enjoy success. The single reached number two in the charts, as did their next single Drop The Boy.

Bros' debut album Push faired equally well and was accompanied by a worldwide tour which helped make the band a household name.

Things started to take a downward turn in 1989 when Craig, who today is manager for Pink and Sade and was until recently engaged to Dannii Minogue, left the band. Matt and Luke continued, releasing The Time and Changing Places, but after a legal battle with their manager decided to call it a day.

Today Luke is carving out a career as a film actor and last year starred in Hollywood flick Blade II.

Now it's Matt's turn to come back into the spotlight.

He has avoided cashing in on a greatest hits offering or a reunion tour in favour of carving out his own, new musical direction. Therefore his new album Face the Wind is a tribute to his fans and an introduction to his new incarnation, featuring club hits, mid-tempo numbers and monumental ballads.

And his fans will be able to judge whether it's been worth the wait when he showcases the album in Felixstowe in July.
