A COMPLAINT has been sent to the Local Government Ombudsman over a council's handling of a planning application for a £3 million abattoir.
Members of Mid Suffolk District Council's area planning committee decided to defer the application, for a site at Yaxley, near Eye.
However, Peter Ede, who lives at Eye and runs a business at Yaxley Hall - about half a mile from the proposed site - believes the committee should have been allowed to vote on a motion to refuse permission.
The Yaxley application, submitted by C & K Meats of Brome, is due to be considered once more by the district council some time in December.
