Police were alerted to the matter by a member of the public at 8.41am.
However, by the time officers and paramedics had arrived, the man had left the bridge and was found walking next to the Felixstowe-bound carriageway.

A police spokesman said: “Police received a call from a member of the public calling to report concerns for the welfare of a male.”
