Two pigs on Ipswich’s Pigs Gone Wild trail have sustained damage over the weekend.

Both the Trotters Pig and Hedgepig have been taken off the trail, just weeks after Pretty Penny, Ipswich Building Society’s pig, was removed.

In a Facebook post, Pigs Gone Wild organisers said: “Unfortunately both The Trotters Pig and Hedgepig have both had to be taken off the trail due to sustaining damage this weekend.”

Residents took to social media to voice their concerns at the pigs being damaged.

In response to the post, one commenter wrote: “Such a shame – we’ve been lucky enough to photograph over 50, my children have loved hunting for the pigs and I think it’s a fabulous free activity.”

Thousands of people have taken part in the trail so far, and the sculptures, which are part of a summer-long campaign aiming to raise cash for St Elizabeth Hospice, have already been hailed a “huge success”.
