Representatives of tourist-related businesses from across Ipswich will gather at a conference at Trinity Park next month to discuss how the town can attract more leisure business.

Ipswich Destination Management Organisation (DMO) is working with University of Suffolk to showcase its work and aims to increase leisure spend in the town by day visitors and those staying in the town’s hotels by £65million by 2020.

The Celebrating Ipswich Conference on May 12 will shine the spotlight on this work.

DMO chairman Alex Paul said: “The conference will be a great opportunity for local tourism businesses in Ipswich and beyond to see how the DMO is working to bring in more visitors.”

University vice-chancellor Richard Lister added: “The University is very pleased to be part of the Celebrating Ipswich Conference. There is a great deal to celebrate in our town, and the University is very proud to play its part.”
