A three car collision on the A12 approaching Ipswich has caused heavy congestion as evening rush hour approaches.

Suffolk police were called to reports of a crash in the northbound carriageway of the A12 near the Copdock roundabout at around 3.45pm.

Chief Insp Matthew Rose said the collision involved a Subaru Forester, Vauxhall Vivaro and Vauxhall Corsa.

By 4.30pm Chief Insp Rose said officers had managed to clear the road - but traffic was congested in the area.

No one is thought to have been seriously injured in the collision.
