THE ANNUAL Tattingstone conker championships were held at the weekend, with both senior citizens and newcomers taking part.

The competition, which has been held at various pubs in the village for 27 years, was held in the Wheatsheaf for the third successive year.

More than a dozen people in total took part, with the winner deciding on the charity where any money raised would go.

There was also a junior section for those aged under 15-years-old, but a match between Bethan Barrick, 11, and Jade Donoghue, 10, lasted for nearly two hours.
