A CONVICTED murderer with a tattooed face is on the run after absconding from a Suffolk prison.
James William Young, currently serving life for murder at Hollesley Bay open prison, skipped warders due to pick him up in Melton yesterday afternoon .
He had spent the day at a centre in Saxmundham on community service.
The 46-year-old convict is described as 5ft 9ins tall and of slight build. He has brown hair and blue eyes with a pale complexion and a faded blue tattoo on his left cheek.
The escapee, who has tattoos on his hands and body, has known contacts in Bristol and Durham.
