The Regional Schools Commission has hailed Copleston High School’s “superb culture and ethos” during a recent visit by its lead advisor.
Rosemary Prince visited the school in May to chat to staff, teachers and pupils and find out how the school, which is currently rated Good by Ofsted, is progressing.
A letter published last week by Tim Coulson, regional schools commissioner for the east of England and London, said: “From the time she arrived the superb culture and ethos of the school was once again apparent,” and added “the young people she encountered she felt were simply charming when asked to explain their work or offer a view on school life.”
Re-organised morning tutor groups for Year 11s was also praised for its help in preparing pupils for exams with additional revision.
The call was part of a routine visit by the commission to both good and under-performing schools.
