CORONATION Street actress Maggie Jones was recovering in hospital today after injuring herself in a fall.
Jones, 73, fell at Manchester's luxury Marriott Manchester Victoria & Albert Hotel, where she lives when she is filming. She suffered knee and shoulder injuries.
She plays Blanche Hunt, mother of Deidre Barlow, in the hit soap opera.
The actress limped from the hotel to the Granada Studios, where Coronation Street is filmed, but was then sent to Accident and Emergency because her injuries were more serious than first thought.
She is now recovering in a private hospital and is expected to be back at work in around two weeks, said a spokesman for the ITV1 soap.
