A COUNCIL has confirmed it has received a complaint about the noise allegedly made by Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane's two dogs.

A story printed in a national tabloid newspaper on Saturday claimed Keane's neighbours in the upmarket coastal town of Aldeburgh had complained of being kept up in the night because of the “constant noise”.

It suggested an official complaint had been made to Suffolk Coastal District Council about the Blues boss.

But Aldeburgh's mayor told the EADT he hadn't heard of any problems concerning the two pets, a golden Labrador called Triggs and a German Shepherd called Izac.

Kevin Webster said it was the first he had heard of any complaints about Keane who is yet to see his side win a game this season.

Mr Webster said: “I have not heard of any problems whatsoever.

“The town council has not received any complaints so the only thing I can think is a complaint may have been made to Suffolk Coastal.

“I think it has been blown out of proportion, we are not aware of any problems.”

But yesterday it was revealed a complaint had been received - and the council would be assessing whether further action needed to be taken.

A spokesman for Suffolk Coastal District Council said: “Suffolk Coastal received a complaint on October 7 about barking dogs and has sent the complainant a letter and a noise complaint record form for them to fill in.

“If and when we receive a completed version of the form, which would list details of the type of noise, its duration and how often it happens, we will then assess what, if any, further action we need to take.”

Yesterday a spokesman for Ipswich Town Football Club declined to comment on the allegations.
